Stomach flu” is not the same thing as influenza flu. A lot of people however do feel so. But it is not true. The flu, which affect the respiratory tract and may also have fever, congestion, muscle aches, and/or fatigue, is caused by viruses only. Normally, stomach flu does not last more than 1-3 days. For the bowel movements to return to normal, it may take 1 – 2 weeks. When a person has stomach flu, s/he may have one or more of the following symptoms: Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, low-grade fever, diarrhea, fatigue or muscle aches. The illness develops within a few hours, or it may suddenly start with stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea.
